#1 A Fantastic Season....If You Know Where To Fish

Fishing this spring has provided some of the best and most productive dry line fishing for steelhead, rainbow trout, dolly varden and bull trout in recent years. As the alvin and salmon fry began to emerge from the gravel of concentrated spawning areas, fish of all species were sent into a multi-week fry chasing frenzy. This is by far my favorite time of the year to fish B.C.'S glacial rivers. Not only is it pleasant to fish a floating line for large game fish and consistently out-fishes sink tips and gear on a daily basis; the first week of the heavy hatch strips fish of of their selective nature and heavy guard, to allow for action on literally every cast. If you have a friend that is a purest, or you happen to be one yourself, this is the time of year I would book off for my river days. Spey and single hand...dry line only! Check out some of the fish the boys from Hella fishing caught and released this season.....
